Many adults use their class as a chance to wind down from hectic work schedules or family commitments. These classes offer a great opportunity for adults to get involved in fun cardio fitness that also keeps the brain active. Not only is it a good work out, studies have also linked dancing to the prevention of diseases such as dementia or Alzheimers. Dance releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins into the brain and this contributes to an overall improved sense of well-being. These classes are a perfect adjunct to Pilates and generous discounts are offered for adults interested in taking dance and Pilates at the school.

Lisa Peresan, Principal at DJAZZEX, says “leaving the rest of the world outside and focusing on your own wellbeing gives such satisfaction – I can see the enjoyment on our students faces! It’s also great to see the satisfaction when they master a new movement.”

This offers a more lyrical movement style, and is more closely related to classical technique.  This style is perfect for people who prefer a more fluid style of movement.  Similar to the style of Sydney Dance Company – a blend of ballet and modern dance. It builds a strong centre and combines precision leg work with fluidity of the torso. Contemporary dance encourages self expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
